About Persha
Originally a TV director and editor, Vanessa Giangrande ventured into the music scene in 2018, giving birth to Persha, her electro-pop project infused with nostalgic 90's vibes. She collaborates with various artists and DJs as a topliner while also composing music for film and media.
"Persha navigates her vibrant, sensual pop between the realms of Goldfrapp and Garbage, all while staying true to her course: an irresistible electro dance floor pioneered by Mirwais for Madonna" (BEST magazine - France 2022).
Previous releases
In early 2022, Persha releases two singles : Hooked and Bright blue sky, followed by a new EP titled Mind the witch and the track Lipstick Masquerade, a collaboration with synthwave spearhead artist Carpenter Brut.
A year after its release, the track hits over 2 million streams. Persha then joins Brut on the iconic stage of the Zénith de Paris in October 2022 and the even bigger main stage of the Hellfest festival in June 2023 in front of 20,000 people.
In 2024, Persha collaborates with rising French electro artist Tolvy on her track Loneliness and with synthwave artist Astral Tales, featuring on a single from his upcoming album, set to release in December 2024.
Music for films
For media and Tv, Vanessa has composed original music for short humorous programs, as well as fashion films, television shows ("Complément d’enquête" on France 2, Grands reportages on TF1 etc...), and an animated short film.
Several of her tracks with Persha have been featured in trailers for the notorious french TV channel Canal +, in feature films like Là où l'on va by Jérôme de Gerlache (2019), Sentinelle by Julien Leclerq on Netflix (2021), and on a Spotify keynote film in 2023.
That same year, Persha also won the Universal 100% HER and the Grown Kid Music Lab competitions, both significant springboards for film score composers in France.
Now based in Vancouver, Persha is set to introduce Canadian audiences to her evolving sound, marked by more electrifying and entrancing tracks. Her lyrics explore the challenges of a tech-driven world, delivering messages of hope and resilience, echoing her steadfast belief in the power of humanity.
